Whole Foods satisfy's and nourishes their paying customers. Whole Foods Detroit recently opened up in 2013. It is located on Mack Avenue and John R road.To celebrate their grand opening, Whole Foods had entertainment planned all day which included African drumming, a DSO string quartet, and Ballet Folklorico. There were also at least a dozen tents with local vendors set up in the parking lot. I am so thankful that my sister got the job and I can use her discount and eat foods that aren't processed! The company creates wealth through profit and growth. Healthy eating is a basic foundation for optimum health and well-being. By providing healthy eating education Whole Foods Market inspires and empowers their stakeholders to make the best health-supportive, delicious food choices to maximize personal health and vitality. At Whole Foods Market, they believe that focusing on the following four pillars of healthy eating offers the greatest health benefits: whole food, a colorful variety of plants, nutrient dense foods, and health facts. First off, it’s a given that each store donates food to area food banks and shelters. Whole Foods Market donate to people who need it. Then, several times a year, the stores hold community giving days known as “5% Days", where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit or educational organization. The groups that benefit from these “5% Days” are as varied as the communities themselves. Last but not least, team members are constantly volunteering their time and expertise to an assortment of local non-profits.Whole Foods Market was founded in Austin, Texas, when four local businesspeople decided the natural foods industry was ready for a supermarket format. The founders were John Mackey and Renee Lawson Hardy, owners of Safer Way Natural Foods, and Craig Weller and Mark Skiles, owners of Clarksville Natural Grocery. The original Whole Foods Market opened in 1980 with a staff of only 19 people. It was an immediate success. At the time, there were less than half a dozen natural food supermarkets in the United States. We have grown by leaps and bounds since our first store opened. Whole Foods Market started our third decade with additional acquisitions of Food for Thought in Northern California and Harry's Farmers Market stores in Atlanta. In 2001, Whole Foods moved into Manhattan, generating a good deal of interest from the media and financial industries. 2002 saw an expansion into Canada and in 2004, Whole Foods Market entered the United Kingdom with the acquisition of seven Fresh & Wild stores. The market is also close to Wayne State University's campus which is convenient for all students!
